Community anchor tenants
• The centre does not want to lose focus on supporting genuine community groups particularly those focusing on youth and children and wants to support these groups in the best possible way.
• To accommodate a variety of sports and to free up slots for the wider public the centre will have one anchor tenant per sport. To identify which club will be the anchor tenant, clubs must apply via email to the centre manager.
• We recommend the following criteria for identifying the anchor tenants.
- The club is governed by an authorised constitution written in accordance with the general guidelines as stipulated by Sports Ireland
- Documentation explaining their membership policy and confirmation if they are open for membership.
- Organisation’s insurance policy indemnifying AYCC and South Dublin County Council
- Club’s affiliation status with the national / provincial sports body
- Club’s affiliation with the local governing body, i.e., South Dublin County Council
- Number of members in the club
- Men
- Women
- Youth
- Number of teams in the club
- Expected usage of the facility between their members, i.e., men, women, mixed and youth
- A registered community group and not a business, proof e.g., PPSN number
- Has a youth division, e.g., child protection policy.
• Community anchor tenants’ records will be maintained by the manager and reviewed on a yearly basis. Applications will be open every April. Booking rates for these groups will be decided by the manager considering the total hours used in a year. Manager may seek board’s approval on such booking rate decisions.
General public bookings.
• Aim is to make more slots available for the public to book via our online portal. Centre manager in consultation with the board will decide how far in advance public can book the facility.
• Free slots will be up to book via the online booking on a weekly basis. This will be monitored and might change depending on demand.
• Preference will be given to community and youth bookings such as gradings or tournament matches with other clubs. The centre manager will require a minimum of 1 month notice for such events.
Commercial bookings
- Usage of the community centre facility for any commercial activity without a direct agreement with the centre management is not allowed.
- Any vendor running their business activity should get into a direct agreement with the management and not through other centre user.
- Sublet is not permitted. Use it for the purpose that it is booked for.
